Also give the whole thing a clean - I'd imagine it's quite dusty in that climate. although it always seemed to me that the click and the flash were coming from some sort of external source... I asked a friend about it about 35 years ago -- a guy who I felt would likely be knowledgeable about such matters. The scale is from 1 to 10, where 10 is the best and 1 is the worst.
