I did create a ClickPad profile to make it 2 or 3 clicks shorter but it's still a frustration. Additional batteries are affected. Windows simply reinstalled the drivers when it rebooted, and the touchpad is live again. I think I managed to set the factory defaults (why should they have changed?), but it made no difference.

When a mouse is connected the touchpad can be disabled by checking the box on the Control Panel/Mouse page, but the check-mark disappears when the notebook is re-booted. Still doesn'twork worth a **bleep**. That way it will look at the Hardware installed on the Notebook.Thanks. First Time Here?

I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults.You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. It now calls the touchpad a PS/2 compatible mouse. I was able to turn it off successfully but if I reboot the computer, pinch to zoom turns back on automatically.
