So it's always a good idea to rely on more direct and predictable ways to make backups etc. My wife's XP is freezing after a restorepoint. Now I cannot get Windows to find the image backups even though my file manager shows them on the external USB drive. The long term solution is to reinstall your system...get it perfect...then image it.
