I'm not sure when (probably after restart), but after a while it just goes away and i can open the taskmgr again. It's been enabled for hours and computer is running quite slow now, but there are no BSODs. this will form a new log, then start>control panel>administrative tools>event viewer. Task Managers does not run in Safe Mode I suppose I will use System Explorer to do any of my usual TM tasks until I have several hours to reload Windows http://megathud.com/task-manager/task-manager.html

If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).
