When I switched to my second setup using the second second monitor, both my laptop and the monitor were plugged on a single power bar plugged on one of many wall It goes three pronged plug from laptop power supply into travel adapter, which is also three pronged, however the ground prong on the travel adapter is fake, so it basically accomplishes Windows did not recognize the second monitor. Windows 10 Multiple Monitors Issue
The graphic card was working before this set of instructions… I don't have a clue how to come back to the previous one. Plus it turned my stereo output into mono (ugh). Thanks so much! Now I can do work on my laptop while watching movies on a 1080p LED TV.

So I tried using my two-prong (lower Wattage) power supply for the laptop and the problem has vanished. Laptop Screen Only Works When Connected To External Monitor I can't adjust my screen brightness either, nothing comes up when I use the brightness function keys, the other function keys work fine. What I've also been doing is plugging in the external monitor into a different power outlet than the laptop.
