This occurs even if you install Windows 7 from a disc or USB drive with Service Pack 1 integrated, which you should.
My PC is now back to normal.BUT.
If you download the 3.5 installation from microsoft and install it ahead of time so SP1 doesn't have to worry about it.
If it's a fresh install of Windows 7, there will be a lot of updates, so this may take quite a while.
