I waited on it for two days and tried everything I could. Kept on googling and stumbled over this page and was like wtf, especially after it WORKED like a charm (Thinkpad E531) THANK YOU, DUDE! After about two hours i tried to power the same laptops again normally and all lot of 15 laptops just came back to life. Once I plugged it back in it was as good as new. I too, thought this was a bizarre remedy but it did the trick. T61 revived and as beautiful as ever! We are a refurbishing company so we get these IBM laptops in bulk.

Did you had to do the trick every time, on my side it happens often :-) not every power on but often Any additional suggestion ?? Lugging out the t42 was always a chore. Also removing the battery and power and letting it sit over night has been successful. Glad you're going again!
